DIRECTOR, CULTIVATION OPERATIONS
Chris comes from North Carolina, where he managed 100 acres of glass greenhouse production as head grower for Metrolina Greenhouses. As a 20-year veteran of the greenhouse industry, Chris has acquired expert knowledge of over 70 species of annuals, perennials, poinsettias, chrysanthemums, plus more than 1,000 cultivars. Chris has extensive experience in the following: manipulating growing environments; environmental control strategies; greenhouse systems management; Integrated Pest Management (IPM) using chemical and biological control strategies; production planning; crop scheduling; and personnel management. Throughout the last decade, Chris has worked with Ohio State University’s International Programs in Agriculture to mentor more than 100 Horticulture and Agronomy students from over 30 different countries, influencing their art of growing plants. Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, with a Minor in Horticulture from Western Carolina University.
